Artificial reef off Fort Lauderdale coast now an ecological disaster

Amazing.

I read a story somewhere about a group of people who go together and lowered steel rebar down into the ocean and energized it with long cables.

6 months later, calcium deposits and corals.

Sucks about the tires though.

the USA really does need to learn how to recycle & re-use. We won't be here 20-60 years from now. but our kids will.

I wonder if there were any actual successful attempts at tires turned to reefs in 1972.

Heck.. 35 years from now, we'll have so many disasters that the only newsworthy ones will be the well-intentioned ones.
