I plan to keep 6 purple and 2 yellow, What combination would you keep. There will be a few other tangs also, blonde naso maybe 1 more. Still will not be able to keep them all.

That is too bad you have to downsize Have you had Naso's before? Is there a picture of your 700 anywhere?

I would keep max 3 of each.

Plus add gem, Fowleri, naso with streamers

Of course some anthias and few angels [emoji4]

240 is not that big compared to the 700/g you have now. Once you set it up it’s gonna feel small. Problem of downsizing.

I have a 265... With a yellow, purple, gem, achillies, orange shoulder, and hippo... No issues but I don't think I could add anything else.. Hope that helps...

In a smaller tank, I'd opt for more variety of tangs rather than multiples of each. The individual tang itself is nice, but in a larger group, it becomes more beautiful. With a smaller tank, I'd just try to mix up the color.

Im downsizing to 2, 240 gal tanks,The second tank will have a gem tang, black tang 4 hippos 2nd blonde naso maybe 1 other. So I am covered on tangs.
Wish I could keep 6 and 6 on purple and yellows love seeing the pack at feeding time just don't know if it will be to much of a load. Will also have a number of wrasses
a pr of marine bettas and a few clown fish, My filtration system will be overloaded since I have so much equipment. So far looking at a double chamber calcium reactor.
nitrate reactor, phosphate reactor, 2 different protein skinners, did I mention dual sumps 1 with dual 6 inch filter socks and the second to grow grass, will have a 4chamber
doser and a uv light. Have I forgot anything other than to mention will run as I system, Will not be able to grow the massive corals as in the past just means I will have to trim more.
I am excited about downsizing there have been times Ive been unhappy with my corals because I couldn keep up. The fact that they will be in the house will only add to my pleasure.
Would consider a fowleri or another gem
