Added a small yellow tang to my 75 gallon aquarium today around 4:15 pm. I turned tank lights off until around 5:15 pm. My Elibi Angelfish is being a bit of a bully. Not biting but harassing the YT and seems to keep the YT in the corner. The Elibi angel breaks away to eat and swim around a bit. I went ahead and turned lights off at 5:45 pm and will not turn them on until tomorrow morning.

Will this subside? The other residents in the tank are a maroon clown and three blue / yellow tail damsels. None of these pay any attention to the YT.

The angel typically don't bully. Those damsel on the other hand, I had 2 bullies in mine and I had to take one out because they were bullying everyone in the tank.

I have lots of damsels and tangs including a yellow for over 10 years now. The only Damsels I have ever had an issue with is the domino. Your yellow tang might be too small to fend for itself and I would keep an eye on him. When they fight they like to smack with their small spike at the base of their tail. Good Luck

Good news! The Yellow Tang is fine and no fish is bothering him today. Seems like just turning the light off and letting all fish settle was the answer in this case. Yellow tang is eating with no one harassing him.

He looks great in the tank with live rock and a dark background!
