OK, it's not another build thread, my last thread on this tank was wiped out during the server crash/switch.
so i decided to finally start it over, lots have happen since i last started this build. during the first build i got this tank from Brian at 3cc after selling my 225

15 GAL TOP-OFF CONTAINER

I used the wood from my 225 build to make the stand for this one, overbuilt yes, but i needed to be sure it would not be an issue since i was moving to a second floor, plus i saved money on wood.

not pictured is the stand for my 75 gallon sump which sits next to the stand. will get pics later.

next i rebuilt my led lights using what i had on my 225.
this is a combination of both bridgelux led and Cree.

here is a full shot of the setup in my apartment.

I still need to finnish the stand.

Fast forward to today and i am back at home and the tank is near the end of it's mini cycle, it was not done with it's initial cycle when i moved it back over to the house.

Big thanks to Brian over at 3cc for helping with the move, he made it easier to do. he provided extra buckets and a 65 gallon container for my water along with enough hose to keep the container in the truck while we pump the water from the second floor to the truck.
this helped reduce the amount of water i had to make-up and kept my cycle to a minimum.

This is the first time i have actually taking good shots with the Tamron 90mm macro, and i did it handheld too.
i think it is very sensitive to vibration, at-least in my experience.

Thanks guys, I think this will be my very last one for a long time, time to enjoy my hobby and not constantly break down and start over.
the plan is to add slow while clearing up some debts.
as for livestock i plan to add lots of smaller fish and inverts.
as for corals. i think i am going for a milli garden along with zoa's on the sand bed and maybe a GSP back wall.

couple thing i am baffled by right now, since moving back home, i can't fill my ato reservoir to high or it will dump too much into the sump, not sure what's going on there. and my once quiet drain is now noisy like most durso setups, i think it's because of the added coupling after having to cut the pipes to move.
i'll figure it out one day, not redoing the plumbing now though.

in other news, non reef related, i am torn between trading in the truck for a new honda (2010-2012) or keeping the truck and dealing with the gas mileage.
the truck comes in handy, but i would love to be able to drive and not worry about the gas needle, lol!

As far as your ATO resevoir goes, make sure the point were it enters the tank is higher than the full spot in your reservoir or you can just create a syphon until the water level matches the outlet of your ato. Just a thought, also make sure the output on the ATO isn't submerged in the sump. Not being able to see it this is my first 2 thoughts.

Build is looking good, keep up the good work, glad your back at home as well! Best of wishes to you bud. You need to swing by some time and check out the progress you helped put in motion :)

Man Felix, you going through a lot the last few months.
Build looks good, as always.
Show more pics how it looks at your home.
Btw, if you need some Aussie GSP, I got plenty of it in my 120 that I'm breaking down on the moment.
Oh Ha...........it's free for you Brother. Just want to keep you in your truck.
I might have some more corals if you interested.

Felix good looking tank as always :)

You are still using the Avast ATO right? does yours have the pump and the mechanical floater device? I have mine setup for the mechanical floater to stop just after the switch does, so if for any reason any extra water tries to get in the floater closes.

I am with Slayer, there is probably a gravity issue, I had a larger container myself before that used to do it and never figured it out until I read his post :p

â€nah, i did not buy the extras, i got mine before those options were available. the thing about is this did not happen in the apartment, and everything is setup the same.
i have a fix, too lazy to do it, but i should get it done over the weekend.

good luck with this build felix....sure its going to be sweet. i love the repurpose mentality....why let it go to waste.

how do you get your skimmer out? does the lid swing up on the sump stand?
yes it does, although i have not installed the hinges yet. thinking of having a pro do the skinning for me, to make it look like nice cabinetry. nothing like d2mni though.

My Little Indian. Love this guy, thinking of adding one more.

what you looking at?
DSC_2489-M.jpg

i wish i could add more hawk fish, but after doing some reading, that might not be a good idea.
I plan to add all fish in this tank as pairs and keep the sizes small, nothing big.
well maybe one show fish. but i want plenty of activity, so a bunch of cool small fish is what i'm going with.
some will have to wait until i have large colonies to add more hiding space for them.

so far i have:
2 clowns
1 high fin goby
one falco hawkfish
1 blood red shrimp
1 yellow watchmen
1 citron goby

need to add one more of everything i have as singles right now.
