So many variables like lighting and water flow. Some are just slow growers while others are prolific.

I had a small patch in my 37 that had a 400 watt MH over it and a maxijet 12 blowing over it and they grew slowly (size doubled in 5 months). I put them under my roommates 400 watt MH about the same depth but it is being hit with three maxijet 12's on a wavemaker and they trippled in size in two months.
