I have zoa's overtaking my return. I have zoa's overtaking my tank, also, but this is inhibiting flow. They're also causing weird currents and disrupting the sand oddly. I've taken the return pipe out and soaked it overnight, outside, in 50/50 water/vinegar. It's pretty cold out, as well. But it looks as if I could put the pipe back in the tank and still have healthy zoas. Any suggestions?

That looks pretty cool actually. You might try rinsing and then soaking in a 20% bleach/water solution (or whatever it takes to get to 100ppm chlorine). Be careful about aerosolizing the liquid which
may contain palytoxin.

100ppm chlorine as per this guide: https://dec.vermont.gov/sites/dec/files/dwgwp/DW/chlorinedosageemergencydisinfection.pdf
Thanks! I have them sitting outside in a breezy area, off the ground so my dogs or other wildlife can't get into it. I'll try bleach later today if this continues to not do anything.

Why didn’t you just frag them off?

I've tried selling them, there's not a lot of interest. And I have probably 1000 more in my tank, if anyone is interested. They've grown onto the inside of the pipe. Difficult to frag from there. And btw, days later, they are still in the same bucket, looking pretty decent. I've been at work, but tomorrow I can finish cleaning them off.

Give them to me. It seems I'm REAL good at killing zoas right now. Hahaha. Can't seem to kill green mushrooms but zoas...
