Hummm we haven't really nailed down a place and I know nothing about Houston other than the woodlands
Sad truth here.Non-existent. If Houston is a clock, then you're finding all of them basically between 8-12pm. You're at 4pm.
Me and my wife are moving to league city in January. We can't wait to get out of Dallas.
Galveston is my LFS.Another league city guy. True that we don't have lfs like the west side does. But i have a few fish from the fishbowl without issue. Rainforest pets is not a marine fish place, but they personally own tanks, have a related maintenance business, have ordered supplies i asked for, and keep frozen food. Aquazoo is mostly freshwater, but i like it in there and they have salt, food, other supplies and some marine tanks. I think pandemic might have put a hold on fish fanatix plans, not sure. And shockingly, the petco down here has nice stock. I watched the manager training an employee on maintenance while i was picking up dog food and came away pleasantly surprised. I thought it was a desert as well for a while, but it's not so bad.
Because everyone hates Dallas! LOLWhy do you guys hate Dallas?
Why?Because everyone hates Dallas! LOL
Because the city is a joke and fort worth is way better. But I want to live close to the coast so I can catch some fresh sea food and be close to my sister. That and I love Houston its way better than dallas. |
Dallas folks are very stuck up and condescending. Why?
For some of us, it goes back to the days of the Houston Oilers... hating on the Cowboys was a MUST, lol! Why?
I’ve heard that a few times now. No wonder my sister is a snoot. LOLDallas folks are very stuck up and condescending.
Yes, take this advice. I was living at the intersection of 45/beltway 8 on the SE side. I took a job in Katy at Texas Children’s about 5 years ago. That 1.5 hour commute started to wear on me after a few years. If there were no traffic it would have been easy, but we all know that this is never the case in Houston. Find your job and try to pick a decent area that’s close. An area that has everything you need within 15 minutes or less. For some of us, it goes back to the days of the Houston Oilers... hating on the Cowboys was a MUST, lol!
As so many others have said, the Houston metro area is huge, and there's lots of traffic during rush hour, etc. If you and/or your wife know where you'll be working, then definitely take that into account. Even if it means having to drive farther to get to your favorite fish store, a long drive several (?) times a month is better than a long daily commute. Regarding schools, "Spring" can be confusing. There are Spring, Tx mailing addresses on both sides of I-45. The east side is where most of Spring ISD is. West of 45, you will be in Klein ISD, Conroe ISD, and Tomball ISD (all 3 are zoned beyond "Spring, Tx" addresses...). Klein, Tomball, Conroe, as well as Cy-Fair, Katy, and even Magnolia are good districts. Your realtor can probably help you out a lot with school info as well.
@sneezebeetle, all this time I thought LFS stood for "local fish store"!
