Thanks bro!

They're just straight T5s, with some LED steps coming soon. Nothing too crazy like that sweet fixture you're running! :)

How much is a good camera like this? ABOUT....
Well, I have been buying stuff over the past several years so it's hard to estimate; but the newer pics on here are just my 70D and nifty fifty. New for those two? About $1500-1600, I'd say. That's not mentioning the cases, light diffusers, flash, macro lenses, extensions, good tripod, etc... Photography is a more expensive hobby, IMO. Trust me, a good iPhone shot is good enough! LOL!

I'm just looking for something "more." Is very hard to explain on a forum.... [emoji53]

I also setup a new Icecap RODI unit at the house, right next to my reef tanks. Did a video on setting it up and running it so you can see how it compares to others you may have used, or already have. I like it! https://youtu.be/DNUI8pvgT44

That's my weekend! Have a good one y'all!

I really wish that I kept mine, John. It was a great unit. I just wanted to try something different. If I can get this one to hold up for as long as you've had your Vertex, I'd be stoked!

Here's a picture of my dirty tank today. I have been placing corals since I'm starting to see more encrustation. Running my alk a little high to help stimulate them a bit...

I'll stop with the watermark logos when my class is over. Been using all these photos for critique until I'm done.

Hey everyone!

I hope you all had an awesome Christmas and New Years!

I have new pics, but they're with my iPhone. Funny story... I'm typically a Droid guy. I loved the Note lineups, that Samsung produced. Well, anyone who's anyone knows the latest news about them... My last phone was a Samsung Note4 (still have it, actually), and I've had it for well over 2 years. I had to upgrade (moral imperative), and I'm actually super pleased with the new iPhone! Last time I owned one, it was the iPhone 4s, but I digress. Only thing that sucks about this new phone is that I need to work on my photography skills on it. I'm happy with everything else, and can't really blame the phone for what I'm unhappy about. :)

Here's some photos from it, and it pretty much sums up the tank right now. It's a bit bluer in the photos than in real life, but I couldn't figure out how to fix that. The new phone is a Apple iPhone 7 Plus 256g, silver w/white face. It's dope!

Here we go:

I got this from Ty. They were in two pieces when I got it. It fused nicely.

IMG_0036_zpss4itervs.jpg

Here's my view of the same frag above, from the front of the tank. It's down low in the tank. About 150 PAR. It's very happy, but growing slowly (which I'm happy with).

And just a recap, this is what it looked like on May 14, 2016.

Not bad.

Here's just a bunch of random shots...

IMG_0035_zpsba1dts1u.jpeg

This Sunny D colony was just 7 polyps when I got it from Tinman.

IMG_0033_zpsv4hfgtzp.jpeg

Also from Tin, these Tinkerbells were only 5 polyps strong when I got them. I believe it was back in May as well.

This particular Hawkins (yes, I have two because I'm gangsta' like that) has an interesting backstory to it. I got this one from Tinman as well and it was mostly an encrusted plug with a nubule protruding from the top. I was successful in knocking that nub off almost immediately when I placed it in my tank (doh!). So, I placed it up high in the tank, and look at this thing go! Goow-geeuz!

IMG_0026_zpspoaixkhp.jpeg

I tried to kill this Cali. It refused.

IMG_0023_zpsysacsshi.jpeg

Get Irie, Zoas!

IMG_0022_zpssfthewan.jpeg

Sick encrusting going on with this one! It pops hard!

IMG_0021_zpsh5ob6kkk.jpeg

I've lost a lot of color to this one, but it's spreading rapidly. Not even worried about it.

IMG_0020_zpscgfvx6gt.jpeg

I've never had trouble growing digi's. Actually, I only know of one guy that has a hard time growing them. I won't bust him out. ;)

IMG_0019_zps7giligxo.jpeg

Another rapid grower! Love it, as green corals go.

IMG_0014_zpsc66sts7e.jpeg

Tried to get some fishy shots.

IMG_0013_zpszkpedagk.jpeg

IMG_0006_zpscafaicf4.jpeg

My terrible attempt at a FTS. It looks so much better in real life.

Looking good sir! I'm jealous! It's always the most fun part, collecting all these frags and growing them!

Looking great Leo.

Corals growing well-I like the corraline on the back wall. In no time it will be covered.

What additives do you use for Alk/Cal?

Thanks John! It's ESV B-ionics right now. It does ok but the water changes are the big one for me. Using the AquaForest Probiotic and it kicked things into over drive for me. Just 14g a week.
