I say do not use a skimmer. get small fish and you do not need that many of them. 5 small reef fish should be plenty. i would vote 1 or 2 clowns, 6line wrasse, small goby, blenny, firefish, cardinal fish, or green chromis are cool too. do like 3 chromis and add about 4 other fish gradually.

my vote is to drill it because I hate dealing with overflow boxes.

with your budget i would say either halide or t5. rico on the fishbox is selling a 150watt clip on halide for 75$. the 2 bulb t5 setup would work just fine. each will have individual reflectors. 4 would be best. I can leave room for a later upgrade.

I can move it for some frags of something (gas ain't cheap y'all) or if either of you has some LEDs or LED equipment you don't need. Maybe Saturday night or Sunday late afternoon?

Lol, this part alone costs more than an entire build could!

same with me, just got a truck, and let me tell you, it can eat some gas.
All i would ask is to cover the gas, just what ever was used. but sunday is not good for me.sat is looking good

You need something to move water around in the tank, some MJ900s with the mod kit would work great too.

MaxiJet 900 and they come with the mod kit when you buy them new. Probably around $24 each locally. I bought an MJ400 from Dennis @ FJW recently and left the mod kit for him, I wanna say it was around $20.

this is a representative peice. no actinic lighting on this shot. i think it is just 14k hamiltons. leo aka flipside has a frag of this. he came from his house to mine to drop off a 75g and left thinking he got a hell of a deal... lol

this is the mother colony. my tank has had some issues, so they are slightly faded. the sky blue part from above is gone, but given good water quality and lower light they should come back. up high they are a solid blue/teal color. I also have eagle eye zoas if those are prefered.
