Same here. Thats why from now on I will only use distilled water or my own RO. Anything else is unexceptionable. That is unless you want to drive to fish gallery. At least there its only something like 40 cents a gallon.

Ok, well I'm going to add some phosphate remover and start adding distilled water to kill off this stupid algae lol (thanks Kroger!). Sorry if I hijacked your thread, but best of luck if you're going to still use the Kroger water... I'm not using it anymore. I'll let you know how my tank starts looking after the switch.

Narny if you lived closer I would give you some RO/DI until your filters came in. I doubt you want to drive to the Woodlands though. LOL

I have RO you can have. How much do you need?

Didn't you help me move the tank in?

They're slightly different. Distilled water is actually boiling the water and collecting the condensation as it cools again, so it produces pure water. De-ionized water only removes foreign ions, like heavy metals. The de-ionized water retains some impurities, like calcium and the like. Thats why you cant use RODI when using the Hanna Calcium Checker. Calcium is still present.

Wha...? Huh?

Are you confusing RO and DI?

Lmao I almost hate to reply to this thread:fear:, but I have been using Kroger water dispensers since day 1:hide: . my 40breeder sps dominated reef has been up and running with this water source for going on 2years... currently my tank is crashing with systematic coral die off but I am not certain if this is solely responsible, maybe a contribution factor though... Ill be taking donations for funds toward an RO/DI Unit if any one wants to donate :)
