If you REALLY want to raise some, I've got three 3-week-old individuals that are too small to put with larger ones, and they're too large to put with this new hatch, and they are taking up valuable tank space.

These have been sold.

sorry didnt see they were sold.

I was wanting to get a couple and let them be the first fish in my 20 gal nano tank.

I still have plenty of smaller ones, if you want some. Come take your pick. I have them from one week old on up.....though I'd wait until they were at least three or four weeks old to take them home. I have some three-weekers that are now the same size as those other three were. :)

Well how much are they each? And do you think 4 of them would be a good # for my tank? I have an remora on it , and dont really plan on putting any other species of fish in it. I will be adding corals later and a couple more shrimp.

Do they need any special food at the earlier age? I would be interested in the
more mature ones.

Thanks, Les. I'll be ready. :D We have about (hard to count accurately) 120 little ones from the last hatch that have survived thus far. I think I'm starting to get the hang of this. I am doing a little experiment on raising the survival rate. I'd like to see if I can be consistent with it, and I am very grateful to you for supplying the eggs to me. Without you, I could not keep doing this. It is my hope to pass on what knowledge I gain so that others may become successful at raising their own clowns. :)

------------

Reefaholic, in a 20g you may have four, but keep in mind that only two of them will become adults (one female, one male), and the others will remain juveniles, thus smaller. I've been selling them for $10 apiece.

The largest ones will eat whatever you put in, though they are not as fond of pelleted foods as the flake. Currently I feed a wide variety of foods, including flake, Cyclop-Eeze, grated fish & krill, mysis shrimp, spirulina brine shrimp, Formula One, Marine Cuisine, etc.

Hi Karen,

My two that I got from you are doing great! On Average how long does it take for clowns to lay eggs? My other two are almost 2 years old and have never laid eggs yet? I decided to put these two guys in my Frag tank in my other room and I am giving them flake food and hatching BBS for them and my display tank.

Thanks,
-Leon

Awww.....thanks for posting the pics, Leon. I get a kick out of seeing how "my" babies are doing. They look like they've grown quite a bit already from what they were when you got them. I'm impressed.

As far as when they will be breeding age, I'm not quite sure. That stupid pair of saddlebacks I have are a couple years old now, and they haven't done anything, either. I think there are a number of factors: stability of the tank, lighting, comfort level of the pair in the tank with tank mates, etc. etc. Who knows, they could start laying next week.....or never. Once they do, however, they'll be like clockwork, provided the conditions that allowed them to breed in the first place remain stable.

My guess is it's one of those rubber doojobbies he got for the clowns to host in :D Maybe when the clowns get older you can frag it out. :p

And if it's not fake, it looks really cool.

Hi Ray, Yeah I can frag off several pieces of it for you, the only problem is that it is rubber and will not grow. It is cool looking and i wish it was real. I got it at the LFS to teach the clowns to host. I do have some brownish and Dark Green Acro in my Display tank.

HI Karen,

Question where do you get your rotifers and about how much do you pay for it. Does it come with directions as to how to hatch it and keep them alive?

Thank you,

Leon
