I have a bowfront tank that I'm selling and have no idea what volume it will hold. These dimensions are external, so I know it will hold less than what will be calculated.

Tank length: 36"
Tank height: 21"
Tank depth, front to back, at the ends: 12"
Tank depth, front to back, at its widest, centermost point: 16.5"

Many thanks to whomever can figure this out for me! :D

Sherri, here's a website with a calculator:
http://www.firsttankguide.net/calculator.php

They recommend the following for calculating an odd shape tank volume:
If your tank is not rectungular, such as a bowfront (sometimes called eurostyle) or hexagonal tank, you can use the average of the quetionable dinention to calculate your volume. For example, if your hex tank is 10" wide at the narrowest and 14" wide at the widest, you can use the average of 12" for the width to get a good idea of the volume of your tank.

Which is what I did! :D

36 x 21 x 14.25 / 231 =
46.63636363
