I would like to ge a clam or two for my tank. I hae a 75 gallon with 440 watts of vho. Which clam would be suited for my setup?

A deresa would be a good starter clam, and should be fine under your lighting.

And what do extra things does one need to do when they own a clam? As if I wasn't doing anything right now to the tank besides water changes and feeding the fish mysis shrimp (I feed more than that one item, but in this example, I am not).

I wanted to get one for my tank as well since I now have VHOs. I suppose I could look around for some derasa, but isn't there another type that does well under VHOs?

You can keep Hippopus hippopus as well but they aren't very pretty. There was one in the pictures that incysor posted from Village Tropical...I think it was the 4th picture from the bottom.

Either derasa and or squamosa clams will do fair under less intense lighting. As the mantle pattern intensifies the lighting needs to be intense to keep the mantle coloration.
