So I lost a fish in my big tank for the first time in a really long time. I am surprised because I lost the largest female which has been spawning like crazy.

Finally got my Echotech XR30 diffusers yesterday. I took some pre installed PAR measurements but still need to install the other two and take some post measurements.

I'm a big fan of the shimmer with the diffusers. I got to see it at a buddy's place. Its less disco like and reminds of the old MH shimmer.

Is be interested in seeing those in person. I've spent a lot of time tinkering with leds and I always love seeing very natural results with them.

I would be curious how you like the diffusers. I did not realize they made them.

Thank - I spent a lot of time planning it and $ getting it built. I have been very happy with it. My only regret is the ARID30 reactor

So I am very disappointed with my initial finding. Unfortunately I did not do an exact head to head comparison. Initial measurements were taken with the lights set to 95% intensity and 14K. Post measurements were taken at 92% and 20K. I plan on taking new measurements at the same settings.

Also, the left fixture was swapped out between measurements. I did not like how the surface measurement was about 1/2 the PAR of the other two.

That's quite significant! I'm curious to see your direct comparison with the values/spectrum the same.

Out of curiosity, which par meter are you using?

Yeah those differences are huge. However, considering that it wasn't comparing apples to apples, those results don't mean much. Gotta keep the control the same.

I took new PAR measurements and it looks like on average the values are 10% lower with the diffusers.
