Cool little tank. Is it possible to drill the tank or put a small black overflow box? The clear overflow box is taking away from the Elos look.

Thanks,

The actual overflow is in the back right corner. It's black and is hidden pretty good, until coraline grows on it.

I put the clear overflow box into there to house a sick anemone. I was slowly trying to nurse him back from death. When I had him on the rockwork, either the clowns or shrimp would rip the food outta it's mouth. So using the overflow box I could see him at all times and if it died I could take it out easy. The overflow wasn't connected, it was just sitting in water.

The Elos is drillable I believe, but I haven't heard of anyone drilling one though.

Sweet! Once again I miss a nice post. That NAC7 is major overkill. :)

Thanks! You almost say that like its a bad thing. Overkill is my middle name.

But seriously, i've been thinking about getting a smaller skimmer. The NAC7 has been kicking butt, but my sump is so small that its such a hassle to take the skimmer out to clean it monthly.

Do yall have that problem?

Not a bad thing. Just surprising to see under that little tank. At least you are ready if you want to upgade!

Luckily mine is pretty easy to pull. Drain the cup, pull the cup pull the body, clean. My stand pretty tall though and the sump is custom to fill the entire footprint of the stand.

I really like the nac7 but It barely fits in my sump, so I have to twist and turn and jiggle it to get it out making a mess on my floor.

How often do y'all clean it? I'm getting lazy lol

whats ur size sump...the new octopus reef-xp-1000 cone skimmers are small...they can handle up to 125 gallons with the new bubble blasters..., they look better than the atman pump on the NAC-7 and have up to 900 lph, IMO i would suggest to stay away from sicce pumps, ive heard people having rotational problems on the pump, been doing research on reef central and they look pretty good and people have said the pumps are excellent quality even though they are from china,

Wow that's awesome. But Imma prob get a diff skimmer first . If I cut power to my skimmer it won't turn back on. I'm guessing the mesh gets dirty and seizes up. Not a prob if my sump was big enough. I might just get a new sump. Get a custom one.

Trying to get a skimmer that uses a pinwheel.

Soy,
I'd call BM about that pump. As I said in the other thread, I've never had restart issues. I try to clean mine once a month or so. However the time I put it in I didn't clean it for months. Never siezed, but skimmate production went down.

E-mail Chris at Nuocean and he will send you a link on how to fix the impeller shaft with sand paper. If I remember correctly, all you need to do is pull the impeller shaft and sand it down.

Thanks

Ill do that. Probably end up pulling my sump out this weekend. I want to rewire some of the stuff I got. Redo my plumbing. Tear down my skimmer and give it a good vinegar soak.

thanks felix!

i got those new frags from mr.coral

10 dollar "LE" sps frags can't be beat. Strawberry shortcake, bonsai, tricolor, red pink and yellow milleporas... all 10 bucks each. Pretty good polyp extension so far. I hope they keep their color.

outta 13 frags... seems like 2-3 sps frags didn't make it though. When i got the package the water temp was like 70.
