Not sure the par readings off the LED lighting but Ive seen some use encrusting Montipora on the bottom, as well as GSP as Mike said. Looks pretty cool. Brave going barebottom. Not sure I could bring myself to do it. Great work on the tank. Good to meet you today. Cant wait to see the new project break ground.

The PAR readings at the very bottom are about 200. At that, it would take a long time for montipora to grow.

I personally dont care for bare bottoms, I thought about doing blacksand for my new 180 but since its going to be an sps tank i need the relection off of the white sand. Live sand is beneficial for your tank.
