I decided I wanted a bigger tank, so I bought a used 75 gallon from The Reef Whisperer. The tank is in the process of being re-sealed.

We just "finished" the stand last night, but there are no doors yet (they should be here in a week or so). LMK what you think!

Looks nice. I prefer an open back to allow for greater ventilation.

I also like the idea of trying to utilize the sides of the stand, either for access, or for electrical.

Anxious to see the overall build.

Will you be building a matching canopy as well?

Are you going to diy the other 75 as a sump?
You can make the doors yourself, you Can use drawer slides to open them as well.

Mr. Rod- The stand was my dad's part in the build. lol He wanted it to match the rest of the furniture in the dining room.

And yes, we will be building a matching canopy, at some point. :)

Mr Steve- I don't really know the answer to that. lol Dad ordered them from somewhere online. If you'd like, I can ask him for you.

Mr. Felix- I sold the 75 I bought from you. It wouldn't fit under the stand, and I needed to get rid of it because some of my family members were getting tired of all the tanks outside.

Looks pretty good! You should be able to fit a 40br in the bottom for a sump and have plenty of room.

if you go to cheaplights.com which is located off of 45. you can pick up one of those dj switches for your system. only cost $16 bucks.
that would help manage stuff better. until you pickup a controller.

plan your plumbing wise. know that pvc is cheapr than vynal and flx hosing, but don't put too many bends and curves in the pvc if you want a silent system.

are you going to do the beananimal overflow?

Not enough room for a 40 breeder. :( Its just 3 inches too short with a 10 gallon under the stand as well.

Mr. Thomas (trb) has the DJ switch and recommended it to me as well. I guess I should pick one up if two people say its good. :)

I really like to flex hose, and don't mind spending a little extra money for a nice setup.

Yeah, I'm going to do beananimal. I just need to drill the holes and get the glass cut. What size bulkheads and holes do you recommend for a 75 gallon?

What are the dimensions inside the stand? Could you put the 10 gal on top of a 40 br?

I squeezed a 40 breeder under my 75. I pushed it out the back a bit. Worked out great for me.

I have 1.5" bulkheads on my 75 beananimal, running a mag 9.5 return pump.

you could build your own sump to fit under there. or wait for the next $1 per gallon sale and see if you find a 30 breeder. i heard it may start next weekend, but i have to call to confirm. lord knows i need a quarantine. sick of getting corals with aiptasia, bubble algae or other nuisance.

What are the dimensions on the 30 long? I have a 29 gallon I planned on using.

nevermind, it's the same width as a 40 breeder just 12 inchs high. i say sell more of your tanks and buy glass and build your own custom tank, sure you could get lots of help here.

Here's what I'm thinking:

(Sorry about all the lines, I'm getting tired. lol) The sump is a 29 gallon, the refugium/ RDSB is a 10 gallon, and the top off water storage is a 10 gallon.

Dimensions on the inside of the 2x4's are : 45"w x 35"t x 21"d.

Hope they are having the $1 sale soon. The petco on 1960 & eldridge had quite a few tanks in stock when I was there on tuesday, making me think the sale will be soon.
