I know DavidM's wife was taking pics. Hopefully he posts some or sends them to us for posting. I personally was trampling around in the mud and water. I didn't want to chance dropping my phone trying to take pics.

I caught 1,000,006 ghost shrimp and 1 pipe fish! I couldn't believe how many ghost shrimp are in the water there. All you had to do was drag your net in the water and it would be packed with shrimp. We had to have killed millions just walking in the water. :twitch:

We brought back 4 pipefish and several ghost shrimp as well. Unfortunately, one pipe didn't make it through the first night but the others are doing fine.

ghost shrimp
pipefish
couple croakers
a ton of crabs (none worth keeping)
a couple of mullet

I think that is pretty much everything we caught. It was a fun time.

I realize this is an older post but having fished the bay many times over the past 60 years I'd like to offer suggestions to those who might want to collect again. Years back I did some wading near the base of the dike at low tide and collected some clumps of oyster shell with lettuce algae growing on it. It had lots of blue crabs, barnacles, pods and quite a bit more. I brought some bay water back, filled a ten gallon aquarium and set it outdoors in filtered sun. After several weeks it turned pea green and in a short time there were hundreds of barnacles attached to the glass. I turned over some rocks at the base of the bridge to Galveston and dislodged several two inch long animals that very much looked like mini lobsters. At one time you could go to holland bayou in Hitchcock and seine up native green mollies and an assortment of killies and pup fish. Unfortunately progress has dried up or silted up most of the good spots but at night you can often seine up small jelly fish and different varieties of shrimp along with baby marine fish.

Yea i plan on going back maybe next week end when my stiches are all healed up with my seine net and seeing what I catch. I think im going to my old trusty spot near the bridge going to Texas A & M galveston as I have had luck there in the past.

Will do. Plus it all depends on the Weather for Saturday hopefully the weather over there won't be the same as it is over here.

Citizen Science project

I wanted to post the document that Laura handed out during her discussion. Here is the information about their project and ways we can become involved.

Sorry it took so long for the photos been busy. I do not have any photos from the pep shrimp collection as my wife wasn't feeling well, so we had to leave.
