Yeah I picked the fish up on Tuesday, it'd been at the store for at least a month. When I bought two CBB's I remember seeing it there then and it was already in the "upper tanks" which is for fish that have been there longer. It was eating pellets and flakes.

Currently it's in QT going through a pro-active chloroquine phosphate treatment regime. It is being picked on a bit by my maroon lighting clown and the kole eye tang. The Kole eye seems to be less aggressive yesterday, while the maroon is still just as aggressive. The maroon is moving to the DT tomorrow so that should make it's life a bit easier. I still am considering separating the gold just to give it a bit more "breathing room" while in QT.

In my opinion do not add the maroon to your display. The aggression gets worse and worse. Pick a different clown specie.

They weren't aggressive with any other fish previously as they had an "anemone" as their home. Like the fish could swim right next to the anemone's and they wouldn't care.

I think right now they don't really have a "home" so the female is just more aggressive.

Ya your new fish is your pride and joy... to the other fish it is just another fish invading their territory.. competing for the same food... ya just got to do what ya got to do. Good luck with your new fish... live long and prosper ya

So at this point I still haven't visibly seen this fish eat since I bought him (2/11/2020) but he's still swimming and very active, but definitely a timid fish.

Because he was picked on, I ended up moving him into a little holding tank that rests on the side of the tank to get him away from the aggression (This is the one). He was in there for about two days, then I had time to make the 40g divider and then I put him in that (on Saturday). Since saturday I've left him alone other than just cleaning the tank. He seems to be getting used to me shoving my hand in the tank for cleaning, but still not eating in front of me.

I have tried:
Flakes (multiple brands)
RN TDO-01 Chroma Boost Pellets
Frozen Mysis Shrimp
Frozen San Fran Bay Angel/Butterfly Food
Frozen Brine Shrimp
Live Brine Shrimp (Just got last night, fed twice but haven't noticed him going for them, there's still plenty swimming around now).

At this point I don't know if he's eating or not. I've tried watching from a far but at the distance he starts to swim around I can't see the food. He doesn't appear to be swimming with intention of eating, but he could be picking stuff up when I'm not there.

Really running out of ideas. I know at the store he was eating flakes (but probably more than just flakes). I am wondering if the two tangs are still scaring him since he can see them through the divider? I can move him into a seperate 10g QT, but I am worried moving him so much is just adding to the stress since I've already moved him so many times.

Said divider I cut for him:

Would the live amphipods survive long enough (in CP treatment) for him to eat them?

I've looked at Masstick before and wanted to get it but never did. Is it around here locally?

Oh I didn’t realize it was in CP no they would die. Maybe keep in a bucket with air stone? Just add a few at a time.

Not sure if mastik is available locally.

Doesn’t CP suppress appetite?

Yes it is supposed to. Although I've never had a fish that wouldn't eat anything in CP. The live brine usually will get them started.

After two weeks of CP I feel the chance for Ich, Velvet, etc is low enough I am willing to move them out into observation.

So come next Tuesday I will move it out either into the main tank or into a 10g without CP.

It looks like I had my time table wrong, according to Chloroquine phosphate

CP Protocol #1 (preferred): Dose 15 mg/L (60 mg/gal) into a bare bottom, rockless QT (see pic below) and treat for 10 days. The tank (and all equipment) should have been cleaned/sterilized beforehand and no biological filtration should be used! The point is to limit the bacteria/biofilm found in the aquarium which could degrade CP. Ammonia can be controlled by dosing Prime/Amquel every 24-48 hours, or by doing water changes. (A Seachem ammonia alert badge can be used for active monitoring.) However, when performing a water change it is very important to dose CP back into any replacement water before adding it to the QT. This ensures that the concentration of medication in the QT remains therapeutic at all times. After 10 days, transfer the fish into an observation tank (see Posttreatment below) at least 3 m (10 feet) away from the QT.

So I am prepping a 10g tank now. I had bleached it months ago, but it's sat empty since I cleaned it. So I am running some citric acid in it for the day then will transfer it tonight to that tank where I can hopefully get it eating without any external threats (fish) or CP (suppressing appetite).

I would gamble and release it in the main tank.
Trust me, I would like to do that. I am pretty confident that the fish doesn't have any of the big diseases, but I have gone through so much effort in my rebuild to ensure nothing has anything that I might as well continue on this path. In addition to ensuring it isn't diseased, it's also a good opportunity to train it to eat without flooding the DT with unnecessary food.

Anyways moved it over last night, and tried feeding it live brine shrimp today and still not eating any.

Have you tried frozen marine angel formula? It has sponge in it. Maybe get a piece of rock and press frozen food in cracks?

Did you see it eating at OLA? If so what was it going after?

Go figure...

Hopefully something will click and it starts eating again.

My goldflake likes pineapple sponges.

Yeah I just got $35 of frozen food variety. Hopefully one of them it'll like. I may try to rubber band it around a rock to see if it'll take to it.

I have to imagine it's eaten something as we are at 11 days now. How long can they go without eating?

Couldn't find any rubber bands, but grabbed a small dead rock (been out of water for over a year) and tried smashing some food (Formula 2) into it. It all floated away almost immediately, but after five minutes of watching I saw him take a bite out of one of the pieces floating around.

SUCCESS!
