That's insane.... I can't believe that happened!!! I still think we can fix them, a little duct tape and some superglue and you will be good as new.

Thanks for the pictures and info nicki let me see what we can come up with for you. Please let me know before you come down so I can have everything ready for you if you want to go through with the project.

Thanks and happy reefing!!

Awesome!!! Could you give us the details on your system?

Do you usually do a quick cycle with bacteria or do you just let it do it's thing?

I'd love to help. My nano has plenty of GHA, cyano, and diatoms (maybe dino). It kinds ugly TBH . I haven't made much effort to clean it up.

Here's microscope shot of what I believe were dinos from Jan. After that I siphoned out about half of the sand and they have been knocked back significantly. Still have brown sand though. I'll get an updated picture tonight.

Tank is a RedSea Max Nano (21g). Setup Apr of last year. Home to a breeding pair of Clarkii clowns (eggs hatched last night), a large sunset monti, patch of GSP, a purple hammer, some utter chaos zoas, and a BTA.

I'll be down in Surfside at the end of the month.

Hey thanks bud!! What type of sand and how many inches did you have? Did you go with dry or live? Did you seed it?

This is for you bret, sorry I can't edit!!

No worries.

I will be posting a build thread in the next couple days on it.

For the cycle I'm doing the Dr. Tim's One and Only cycle with Ammonium Chloride starter.

Ok... have you done one with Dr. Tims? How long of a cycle are you expecting? How many tanks have you setup? I guess I can wait till you do the build thread!?!:couch2:

Tropic Eden reef flake. I used about half bag initially for about 1-1.5". Now I'm down to .5" (assuming the clowns don't move it around, spoiler, they always do). Dry pukani rock. It soaked in a tub on the back porch for ~6 months before I used it. No heater though, occasional water change with dirty tank water.

When I setup the tank I used Red Sea's Mature Starter (3 weeks dosing bacteria/ammonia). Since then I've occasionally thrown in a vial of Prodibio Biodigest.

edit: had to add one nice pic, the mystic sunset monti (thanks @reeftopia!)

What kind of equipment are you running?
