Remember you should not drink RODI.
It need to be hardened with minerals first!

I had a great guide for that from my freshwater days....but can't find it anymore :-(

Drink the waste water but boil it. It will still have many of the minerals needed.

Everybody knows that.

Btw, I was in west Texas to get the Deer lease ready but left at 1am just to make it home in order to get it all ready.
Moving my company equipment truck and trailers to higher ground in Willis, fired up the whole house generator and a 6000W backup to make sure all is working smooth, mixing 500 gallons of RODI and 500 RO just in case, stocked on 100 gallons of gas and 200 gallons on Diesel fuel, check the hurricane supply on food, water and medical supplies.
Not sure if I have to do something else for the tank as it is already running on it's self, just topping off the ATO this afternoon.

Wait we can't drink rodi? Why not? How bad is it for you if you did drink it?

It does not have any minerals in it! You drink too much the minerals required for your body will be taken out of your body, then after a while you will run out of minerals the body stores and certain organs will shut down.

So just don't :)
RO can be used for drinking but not too much.
I use RO water for making soft tea and coffee brews ;-)

On top of that it tastes like crap because of the missing minerals. Had to taste it many moons ago. Blah!

Take a tour of your M.U.D. district to see how they purify/convert sewer water to drinking water...you will drink nothing but ro/di after that. :eyebrows::eyebrows::eyebrows:

lol that's where I saw the huge RO membranes. Literally a two story tall warehouse full of them, each around 4-6" in diameter.

City of Sugarland uses surface water as their primary water source. The filtration facility is shared by the waste facility. Surprisingly no odor like I would expect.

Had to make a reluctant pass on going this year. Just got back from salt lake city after being gone for two weeks. I was looking forward to MACNA, but like someone else said, who knows when you can get home. Gonna weather the storm

You are fine drinking RO/DI in emergencies, confirmed by the man Randy Holmes Farley himself.
DI resin is not FDA approved but for short term use its fine.
Bacteria that can grow in the DI is what is most harmful, but again it should be fine if you boil it first.
