My 2 phase saltwater mixing station (1 Viewer)

Ok, I've been using a mag and a few Brute cans for 4 years and I was ready for an upgrade. I have been using a Reeflo Dart/Snapper hybrid on my display tank for 4 years and never had a single problem from it. These are the best pumps on the market imo. I figure I could kill 2 birds with 1 Stone by getting a backup pump that doubles as a saltwater mixing pump so I purchased a Super Dart/Snapper Gold Hybrid. Here's what I currently have as a mixing station...

Here is a VERY rough draft of my "new" setup. I'll be using the Brutes until my Ace tanks come in. Should be here in 4-6 weeks. They have free shipping and good prices. 404 Not Found : Rural King

Thanks! It's overkill but I really wanted a backup that I could plumb the exact same as my DT pump so if anything happened it would be a direct swap.

I'm missing a lid so I have to get creative one on but I'm going to cut a hole in the lid that I do have.

That would be awful! I transferred water from one can to the other yesterday and 10g only took a few seconds. That would make a huge mess really quick. I can't imagine how much that Hammerhead of yours flows.

Try to make it mix in a circle. More power.

Turbulence is key. If it all moves in a circle together, it won't mix as well. If I put 4 or 5 baffles in the can then I could move it in a circle and the baffles would break the flow up and mix it really good.
