John, thanks for all the hard work you have done for the club! So are we to use the new hosting company for a long term. or you are still on the lookout for a good long term solution? If you are going the MACNA, maybe you should check with the other local clubs like Dallas and Austin to see who they use and their experience and maybe we can find a good/proven one? just a suggestion.

As most of you may have already noticed we have stepped into the way-back machine and all data has been reset to July 20th, 2012.

I'm working to get more recent data but unfortunately I've run into a problem with the database backups so I'm working to see if I can pull the tables manually.

To answer a few questions I know will be coming.

1. Yes this now means we are going to switch hosting companies.
2. Yes I am extremely irritated right now. (Should be I was up till 2AM fighting with them.)
3. No we apparently do not have much recourse but to say give us our money back and take our business somewhere else.

Feel free to post questions, suggestions, rants (remember family site), and whatever else pops into mind.

John, is all the data after July 20th lost? or do you have a magic trick to backup all that.
I know you guys are leaving to MACNA, just wondering cause their were a lot of new builds with tons of information that I might need for my build in the next few weeks.

I'm going to try and retrieve data when I return but right when I left it wasn't looking very promising. Their whole system was messed up and wasn't transferring data correctly.


Anybody else notice that this new server feel a lot faster?

We are on a new host BTW Nexeon Technologies and they're here in Texas so we can beat them up if things go wrong again They were extremely helpful in getting the site moved and up and running. Major kudo's! I though it was going to need to wait till next week.


Our old hosting company was PowerVPS Be-sure to tell everyone you hate to use them if they want a hosting company that forgets to enable their backups after restoring servers from a previous crash. There is more but I'm going to go see who I can find here in Dallas.
