Thanks guys! I wasn't aware of this thread until Joe told me about it :)

Glad you think I did a good job, and I couldn't have done this article without the anemones from Incysor and several others. So thanks right back at MARSH :)

Pretty cool!

And I might add very helpful and informative! And in my particular case timely...I was just looking into this as I'm presently dealing with a nasty "outbreak' of a certain anemone.

Carol,

Do you know what time of anemone? Outbreaks can be caused by too much food being fed to the tank.

I wish I could say they Rose BTA's :D, but I believe they are Aiptaisia - And yes, you are right on target, I am feeding an abundance of food that reaches their tentacles. Most days I feed just hatched artemia twice. I have a fish that won't get enough food unless I supplement this way.

I never had a problem with the little anemones before this. I hate to kill them, but yesterday I did inject quite a few of them with boiling hot water. It helps to know that they don't have brains, but I hate killing them.

BTW, my BTA has declined as they have increased, I wonder if they release competitve compounds.

Carol,

I guess Aiptaisia could relase competitive compounds, but I honestly don't know. I could understand not wanting to kill them, I have a hard time with that as well.

Since you need to feed the fish I don't see any other way out of your situation though :( Good luck in your battle.
