I would say yes and wait for a couple hours and go in with a flashlight to see if any has hatched then turn it back on for them to eat I believe for 24 hrs before covering.
All mine died the other day too. When I put the pot into the fry tank it got the water all dirty. So next round will use the fry collector instead of putting the pot into the fry tank.
