I went Saturday, one east of rainforest cafe - not a thing, rocks were too organized and not many spots for dipping. And ones to the west of pleasure pier were the same, west closest to pleasure pier were too step, didn't even try.

I did stop at Petco in League City and brought home a Yellow Headed Moray for my FOWLR.

When you go to collect at the jetties by the Rainforest Cafe-there is no need to walk on the rocks.Walk in from the beach towards the rocks .
The outside rocks are loaded with peps in waist deep water.

Catching copepods would be extremely difficult, and if you did they would most likely be free swimming species. Mandarins prefer ones that stay on the rocks/glass. Amphipods are easier, but too big for mandarins.

I'm thinking about going looking for Peppermint Shrimp in the next 2 weeks. Last year I went in April, May, and June, with the best luck being in June! In about 30 Min I had about 40 shrimp, so I had to find homes for some! I'm going to try to go on a day from 5/30 - 6/1, or 6/6 - 6/8. These are the times I'm off. I live in the Deer Park area, but I'm willing to drive and meet anyone wanting to collect and/or learn about how to collect on the Sea Wall and rock groins.

PM me if interested

I live in Pasadena and can go on 6/7 or 6/8. I will be released by the doctor by then. If you decide to go either one if those dates, let me know.

Just FYI 6/6 - 6/8 would be better from a tide height perspective, 5/30 - 6/1 will be very low.

found a few dozen while wading through the seaweed along with fiddler crabs. I'm after anglers and pipefish :/ seaweed is super thick.
