Got mine and already in the tank.
Packing is good, insulated and heat pack
Like always happy with his service

Feels great to pop and drop inverts. Not having to worry about ICH is nice if it’s not already in your system. I already have Vermetid snails so I can just put them in. Of course I carefully inspect and still clean them. :)

I bought from them previously and will buy from them again once I have some more algae. I think I got some mangrove pods from them before. Took a couple months for them to pop leaves but they grew roots really fast after that.

If you want Red Mangroves to go nuts. Put some strong 6000-10000K lighting on them and grow them in FRESHWATER using hydroponic fertilizer. They will take off! Then after you get them to size, you can acclimate back to saltwater.

Great seller - from the packaging to the inverts selection. Overall very happy with my order. Will definitely order again.

Try to get something replaced when they're dead... good luck. Maybe he was just in a pissy mood with me, but I just gave up trying to get replacements for all the dead stuff I got from him in my last order. Basically every dwarf cerith was dead, and I took a picture of them but that wasn't good enough... blah blah blah. I wrote it off pretty quickly.

Oh, and don't order Nerite snails. Ever! They don't stay in the tank, even with a lid. You'll find them all over your house.

This 100%
I place probably 20 or 30 orders for Emerald crabs with him over four or five years for controlling bubble algae.
Never had an issue until my last order when the crabs just would not touch the bubble algae.
Now he literally refuses to sell me Emerald crabs because he thinks I'm lying, I kid you not.
Really disappointed to be treated that way after all the money I spent and all the times on this forum and reef2reef that i recommended him to others.

Ok received an order from them last week. They are shipping from Florida to Texas...do you really need a heat pack? Never the less they put one in there and then the hermit crab bag right on top and the rest. The result was ALL the bags were pretty warm and about 3/4 of the hermits were dead. I was very surprised that the 2 emerald crabs looks perfect! I will probably order from them again but they need to work on their packing.

Crazy hearing these stories. I’ve never really had a problem and I’ve been ordering from John since 2014. The only thing negative I can say is that his fern Caulerpa was shady and basically dead and his CUC members do have Vermetid’s. But I think everybody has Vermetid’s. LOL. So my only complaint is the Caulerpa sucked. I don’t get anything if you order. I only made the post because I know he doesn’t keep fish which is huge plus for me personally.

My first order was pretty jacked up. I would say about 1/2 DOA or within the first 24 hours. I layed them out and sent a photo and he instantly credited my acct. I took the money and ordered the stuff I lost and payed for the expedited shipping . Big difference! All snails even conchs did great. After watching tracking for USPS the package goes Florida to N Houston back to Beaumont that they passed up the day before then to Port Arthur. Then to Sabine Pass the next day to the half day Post Office which is open 9A to 1P. Even on the expedited it wasn’t going to make it by the guaranteed time. So I picked it up in Port Arthur. We aren’t exactly a major business hub down here.

Well, I need to place a pretty large order soon. Would you recommend I choose expedited as well?
I will probably give him a call and make sure all my concerns are taken care of and we are both on the same page before I place the order.
With a bigger than normal order, it is more difficult to spot DOAs, so I will probably get an extra-large tote so I can monitor for those.

I’m surprised they could find Sabine Pass on their GPS. :)

Yeah, inverts don’t do particularly well with normal shipping. It’s hit and miss. Depends on the route and weather.

All mine arrived a live. I didn’t have any DOA. Like I mentioned already...I placed a second order for Cheato and Calurpa and the Calurpa was horrible little batch and died within 3-4 days. Cheato was normal small ball and did fine.

I will order from them again. I caught That Aquarium Place on a 10 for $10 special one day and everything did great from them.
