I used to get .5 micron but last time I ordered my yearly supply I could not find .5 so went with 1 micron. I prefer the .5 to trap all the nasty stuff before it ruins the other more expensive components. Sediment filter is the least expensive filter in a ro/di unit.

1 micron also. I usually order from Bulk Reef Supply. Just got a jumbo bag of DI Resin. When it comes time to replace the RO membrane it will more than likely be a spectrapure. I have been using them for a very long time

One more question. I have a 200gpd RO/DI with a booster pump. If I put 2 150 membranes in can I make 300gpd or is there more to it?

Just remember that the higher rate of flow through you RO membrane, the less efficient they are. You get a nice, happy medium at 75 GPD RO membranes.

I think to upgrade to 2 x 150 GPD RO membranes you'll have to change your ASOV and a few other small items. Russ/Buckeye is a great guy and can tell you what you'll need to do so, if you really want to.

Not really...
They can clean the water just as well with a similar waste to permeate ratio.

I use 2 150 GPD membranes for 300 gpd and LOVE IT! I could never go back now. So nice to fill a gallon jug in minutes. :D

Assuming you are running at the proverbial 4:1 ratio, when the system is running your flow would be:
300 gpd + 1200 gpd = 1500 gpd
1500 gpd / 1440 = 1.04 gals per minute.

So hopefully you are using something beefier than a single 10" x 2.5" carbon block.

What booster and system are you using?

I'm using the Aquatec 8800 booster pump. My system is very old from way before I was on MARSH. I just buy replacement filters from our LFS that carry them. Russ does have some great systems though.

To be honest, I'm not sure really. I do know it takes longer than 1 minute to fill a gallon. Way back before I knew about you guys I bought this setup from some filter guys online. They set it up for 300gpd. I'm not sure what size the flow restrictor is in it. That would be the deciding factor in the 4:1 correct?
