Well, after 4 months and changing my mind on equipment half a dozen times 8O I am finally finished setting up my new tank. The tank is in my study, and is viewable from that room as well as through a window into the main entryway to our house. I used my bookshelves to create a faux wall with a work area behind the tank. Here are a few pictures:

Here are pictures of all the equipment under the stand:

Here are some pics of the infamous sliding light rack. I think it came out great, and it is SOOOO easy to work inside the tank without removing the canopy. In fact, I've only had to remove the canopy twice - once to wire up the T5's, and once to add fans.

I know it was hard to keep track of what's what, with all the times I changed my mind on equipment. Here is the final list of equipment used (please don't compare it to my original equipment list in the DIY thread - it's embarrassing how different it is :D ).

Tank - 48" long x 29" wide x 24" tall acrylic with 5" filter along the back (converted to one big overflow).

Lighting - 2x250w XM 10k metal halides, 4x54w T5 Blue+ supplements

Circulation - Sequence 3200SEQ20 pump powering the return, skimmer, calcium reactor, and chiller. Two Tunze 6000 streams on a multicontroller for in-tank circulation. Total circulation > 5000 gph.

Filtration - Zeovit, Deltec APF600 protein skimmer, ~130 lbs. live rock, occasionally filter socks on the returns, and regular siphoning. No DSB or refugium - going for extremely low nutrients.

Other - 1/4 HP Pacific Coast chiller, Precision Marine calcium reactor, Aquacontroller 2 controller.

Now it's time to bring on the SPS frags. :D

very nice set up. it's time for some nice sps :D

Thanks for the offer - I'll take all of your frags. :D

Thanks for the nice comments everyone. It is really a relief to have this part of the project over with. I have always liked the setup and planning stages (maybe that's why I keep changing equipment), but I can honestly say that this project has taken it out of me, and I have no desire to setup a new tank again any time soon. At least for a couple of years, anyway - until I get the bug to upgrade to a 300g.

Seen you already have a maze in there, thats great, is it the regular green?

Great pics, glad you got everything hooked up now.

I have 4 brains total, including 2 maze brains. The larger piece you see is a nice blue color morph I picked up from Global on Friday. I've never seen one quite this color - I'll try to take a pic when the main lights are on.

Yes take a picture of it, and of your other 3.

We are thinking of trying to frag my teal maze, for it is getting to big for our little tank.

It was a freak accident involving a Q-Tip. :D

Sure, I'll take your brownouts. Sounds like a good test of Zeovit to me.

i see two big output nozzles with the enclosed rocks.. are they the Tunze? do you make the rock yourself or buy them from Tunze? very cool since you can hide those big, ugly pumps!
do you have any trouble w/ water splashing at the surface since the nozzles turning upward? also does they limit your coral placement due to the low position of the Tunze?

Those are the rocks from Tunze. The surface agitation is great, even with them so low in the tank. It doesn't splash, but there are lots of ripples on the surface.

Coral placement could be an issue - I don't have enough corals yet to tell for sure. That's one reason why I aimed them to bank off the front glass, instead of shooting straight across the tank.

Mike, what is that on the discharge of your pump? It sort of looks like a check valve. BTW, our T5's should be here by the end of the week, can't wait!

Yes, it's a check valve. One of my returns is pretty low in the tank, so I have siphon breaks AND a check valve. No single point of failure when it comes to the potential to empty half the tank water on the floor.
