Well, after 4 months and changing my mind on equipment half a dozen times 8O I am finally finished setting up my new tank. The tank is in my study, and is viewable from that room as well as through a window into the main entryway to our house. I used my bookshelves to create a faux wall with a work area behind the tank. Here are a few pictures:
Here are pictures of all the equipment under the stand:
Here are some pics of the infamous sliding light rack. I think it came out great, and it is SOOOO easy to work inside the tank without removing the canopy. In fact, I've only had to remove the canopy twice - once to wire up the T5's, and once to add fans.
I know it was hard to keep track of what's what, with all the times I changed my mind on equipment. Here is the final list of equipment used (please don't compare it to my original equipment list in the DIY thread - it's embarrassing how different it is ).
Tank - 48" long x 29" wide x 24" tall acrylic with 5" filter along the back (converted to one big overflow).
Lighting - 2x250w XM 10k metal halides, 4x54w T5 Blue+ supplements
Circulation - Sequence 3200SEQ20 pump powering the return, skimmer, calcium reactor, and chiller. Two Tunze 6000 streams on a multicontroller for in-tank circulation. Total circulation > 5000 gph.
Filtration - Zeovit, Deltec APF600 protein skimmer, ~130 lbs. live rock, occasionally filter socks on the returns, and regular siphoning. No DSB or refugium - going for extremely low nutrients.
Other - 1/4 HP Pacific Coast chiller, Precision Marine calcium reactor, Aquacontroller 2 controller.
Now it's time to bring on the SPS frags.
