Ok.... It is time for some upgraded pics.. Lots of marsh members have been wonderful at helping me restock... A special thank you goes to Mark. What a guy... he fragged stuff out of his tank for me for over an hour.

Here is an updated full tank shot, then right, center and left... 8 ft is hard to capture in one shot... LOL:

awesome pics of pretty fish/corals and female humanoids. With global warming the weather everywhere is wacky. Shurly there must be some way to huricane proof an aquarium with out going through all that work every time. how long did ya have your red star for? mine is still somehwat stable but slightly eroded.

I have only had the red serpent a couple of weeks, but I don't anticipate any problems with him, since he is a serpent. In my other tank I had a red linkia for almost a year and he started losing limbs. Just before IKE it appeard as though they were growing back... I will never know....

what a great neighbor.

Having this large tank, can you compare and contrast the simularities and differences of what you thought it would be like before you set everything up to this point?

Is the work load to maintain the tank extensive?

Have you reached the zenith or is there more uncharted waters to conquer?

I am not sure I ever gave it any thought as to the magnitude of this tank and what it would really be like. LOL.. Do first, think later..... It really isn't that big of a deal. I do need to purchase a bigger skimmer. My biggest challenge is keeping it clean and not scratching the acrylic. The euro bracing on this tank leaves only 3 openings in the top which are approximately 10" x 20"... and it is 30" deep. My arms do not reach the bottom without wetting half my shoulder too. Saturday When I was about to clean the glass, I pinned my hair back and put on a tank top, walked in and my husband asked if I was going diving again.... Pretty much an everyday occurance. I do have the grabbers and stuff, but sometimes it is impossible to use them. That is probably the biggest challenge.

Prior to this I had a 120 gallon and a 150 gallon. So, as far as maintenance, it really is half the work. Only one set of water test, one skimmer to clean, and the water changes are about the same, if not just a little less. Also, when setting this one up, Scott had the brilliant idea and we installed a drain off of one of the closed loop pipes and this is used for water changes. My water changes have never been so easy. I use a 44 gallon rubbermaid on wheels to make my water. Hook a hose up to the drain, drain it out the window down to the correct level as determined by just doing water volume calculation, then roll the new water over, pump it into the sump as the sump starts adding water back to the tank. Some how I lucked out and my return pump and the pump from my new water actually work quite well together. Water change can take as little as 30 minutes. It is great!!

There is always going to be uncharted waters.. :)
