I think that situations like this should remind us all that how delicate our systems and its inhabitants are, let alone their instability. In this hobby, we have come a VERY long way since its first beginnings, but we still have many things to learn and master, even as experienced hobbyists.

It is crazy to see how much a slight shift in the tank's equalibrium can ruin it all if not caught in time.

Kim,

Sorry to hear about your tank and the loss of your fish... I know how it feels, I've had my tanks crater a few times, but I keep trying because I love doing this.

Once when we moved, once during mold remediation both my wife and my tank cratered from lack of care and they wouldn't let us in our house, and recently my wifes tank, and I really think that had to do with the water we were putting in from the LFS.

Any ways if you still need a temporary home for your critters till you decide for sure let me know and we can make arrangments.

I hope you just take this as a learning experience and move forward, it's a great hobby with lots of neat people to help and learn from.

Rick
