Does anyone know if this stuff kills managroves? Some one on YouTube told me to take them out of my tank, which I can't because they are attached to my rocks... I'm about to start dosing today and document it. Via YouTube

Vibrant will deplete your potassium, and mag. If your nutrients are not in line you will get Cyanobacteria. That was the best thing it did for me. I got my nutrients down and got rid of cyano without it after I dosed. It works but it gets corals pissed off. If you have anything sensitive don't use it. Change your husbandry vs using it. When I had virtually no algae and used it I stopped and clean up crew were taking care of it and all growing well and healthy.

I plan to run my GFO and Carbon reactor and a clean up crew to help. My only concern are my plants, I guess we will find out. My plants does take more MAG then usual, I can dose if needed or a quick WC. Thanks!

So why do we do this in the hobby? A product comes out and we all think it cures our reefs but then six month to a year later boom it causes all kind of issues.

Same thing happened with acropower-there was so much hype and then people were and still having algae issues. I'm sure some it's users error too but to me these products are all snake oil.

IMO No need to use any of this junk if you keep it simple; good light/skimmer and water chemistry.

If I do use any of these products my theory is to wait at least twelve months and if the products is well received by other reefers I don't mind given it a try.

I still can't find any info on this. Well I have been holding up on the dosing but I guess I will pull the trigger tonight and see what happens to my plants. I'm just gonna do the recommend amount 1 ml for 10 gallon...Thanks!

Sometimes people have hope for a miracle product! America at its best!!! I'm still waiting on my automatic glass cleaner Nano size so I can be even more lazy and enjoy my tank without lifting a finger!!

Good luck! Keep us posted. I dosed 1ml per 10gal and only think it did was kill my bubble algae and macro algae. But I only went through one bottle didn't try anymore after it was out. Cody said his took a while to see it start working so maybe I gave up to quick lol

I used it for the purpose of getting rid of bubble algae and it worked perfect. No I'll affect on coral and my cheato in my sump . I used it only until I saw no more bubble algae then quit.

Red Mangroves like Mag. They should be fine through the treatment though. They're pretty hardy. If leaves start falling...they're stressed. They'll drop their leaves if stressed enough. You can pull the roots off the rocks. They'll attach, but not enough to hurt them when you pull them off, just be careful. I have a guy in Florida that specifically grows mangroves in the rocks so he can sell them later. Otherwise, they will die if uprooted from substrate.

I can't believe you guys are having success with Bubble Algae. That's awesome...I never thought we'd have a cure for that in a million years. That stuff is like cancer.

Somebody told me that even if you take a rock out with BA on it and let it dry in the sun for 6 months and use it a year later the BA Will come back because the dry spores can reactivate once they are in the water again. That's pretty gnarly!

I think the best way to explain what it does detrimental, is that vibrant throws the balance of your tank off and the stability in the tank gets out of whack. I doubt it kills any coral. As long as you think the rewards are worth it I guess go for it. Be prepared for cyano potentially.... I will give it to those guys who developed it. For commercial tanks with just fish it's probably great. Go for a weekly maintenance job on a fish only system and no algae to deal with.
