I'm in agreement with Mark, third AGE tank ( first one was a double sided 360 bow, 2 nd one 280 gal and current is almost 600 )
I purchased them thru fish gallery. Excellent customer service and quality, just my opinion

mine leaked twice at two different seams and they wouldn't stand by it. I eventually sent it to planet and they tore the whole thing down and reassembled the whole thing. Inspect the seams carefully before purchase. Their stands are very nice. No complaints there.

You're tank leaked brand new? Or was it older? Were you using their stand? I'd be interested in more details.

the first leak was immediate, the second was six weeks later. I used their stand and it was on hard floors. I checked the stand with a level, and the tank when it went on the stand. It was just a bad seam job. I looked them over carefully after the second leak and some of the seams were too close together with very little silicon/sealant. Fortunately I had just finished cycling and very little was in it. Yet another lesson learned the hard way. Lol

One other thing Mark, this tank is 10 yrs old, so things probably changed.

Ah Ok. Yeah lots can change with a company in 10 years. Even so, that is crazy luck to have two leaks back to back like that. I've been in the hobby 28 years and don't think I've ever seen that kind of luck. LOL

It gets better - Wife and I were on vacation on the East Coast when the second seam busted. Dog sitter called - "Hey, your tank is leaking, what do you want me to do?" You just can't make this stuff up!!!!! LOL

I think we have all had that nightmare. I couldn't imagine the sense of panic.

So most of the LFS here use planet aquariums..

any recommendation on who to go with?

i wish i could buy a reefsavvy tank - but its just ridiculous with the shipping.

looking to get something like a 72 x 30 x 22

reviews on planet aquariums?

Hope I will not be disappointed with planet especially since my last tank was an Elos.

I have not ordered yet but will be soon.

I would go with either as my experience is jaded and old. Just inspect the seams carefully for bubbles or seams too close together. I looked closely at a planet Dennis had at FJW last weekend and was impressed with the construction and price. I don't go to fish gallery because I have no reason to, but their tanks may be nice too.

If a seam is too big, the tank will fail. If the seam is too small, the tank will still fail.

That is one reason why spacers need to be used. I've seen a lot of tanks with huge seams lately. They will blow apart 3-4 years down the road. Tanks never fail in the beginning. It's always years later.

^^^what amazes me is builders should do outstanding job as they get more business but actually it's the opposite.

Not just planet even some other builders are getting sloppy

With the money we spend on some of these tanks you would think they would be better. It's up to us to make sure they are built correctly. Sad but true....

Best seams ive seen are Innovative Marine tanks. Seams are a little big and I'm sure they're using the injection method, but man they're clean.

I only trust builders who use Momentive RTV 108 aka 100 series or SCS 1200 silicone.
