Thanks for the thread links, Edward...

I remain convinced that the Cali and Bennet "torts" are the same. The ORA is probably the same, too. So, we basically have two"torts".... the Cali/Bennet/ORA and the Oregon. IMO

My original tort came from Bill Parmucci(sawjack100) at Northstar Corals. He's out of biz now. It's a moderate grower with a green tint to the polyps. It can look more purple under 10Ks. The tort I got from Sue is still too small for me to make a judgement on. It does, however, have a more intense blue color without the green tint to the polyps. But it's not as sky blue as your Oregon, Edward. It is and will be an awesome piece. Thanks again, Sue!!

Variations in growth form/structures don't concern me too much because the same coral will grow differntly in different tanks. Due to flow patterns, lighting, etc. As an example, Edward, there are major differences in your blue stag you got from me and mine.

Regardless of which torts are which, they are all quite beautiful and hardy, too.

Cheers all!

Steve

Steve, after reading those threads it does seem like there are two. There has been some new blue torts coming in.. so thats just going to confuse everyone even more. ;) Its like the PM and Leng Sy cap.. if your source is creditable to its origin, then its what you say it is :) Isnt it funny the depths SPS fanatics go through just to prove themselves? ;) Just makes it even more fun. :)
