Jared, who's tank was that spilled on the floor?!

Also, I third ditching the check valves. Just allow enough room in your sump to handle the back syphon.

What return pump are you running? If internal, some people like spa hose on the discharge of the pump. I LOVE the plumbing part!

It's a Mag 9.5, figured I would use braided tubing?

So here is what I have so far, added a threaded strainer and a female adapter for the end of the PVC pipe as well as an other union. Do I need any other types of adapters?

Braided as in stainless steel? That's a no no. As far as what else you need, you'd need to provide a diagram of what you'd like to do with your return and drains. Will you be running any reactors?

I guess I meant braided vinyl tubing? Here is a rough sketch I just came up with. The two drains will go down into two filter socks, same compartment with the skimmer. And no plans for reactors.

That fuge light looks similar to mine. A member on here pointed me to a great bulb for growing chaeto. It's a 23w 6500k
