I have a Coral / Invert QT tank. I have separate hoses and everything labeled Coral / Invert QT so that I do not cross contaminate stuff. Everything that goes into the main tank goes through a 76 day QT. Even then I still feel there's a potential unless I do a 48 hour QT by itself after that. It's a rough life to ensure everything is clean.@Reefaholic: Are you also leaving your invertebrates through a 45-72 day QT?
I wanted to use my frag / grow tank as coral QT and just read it should not have any fish to avoid tomonts or other cross-contamination.
Interestingly, I have also read that a frag tank system has a much successful chance with some fish in it.
I was thinking about using a 20 gallon tank to QT invertebrates, but I assume I would not be able to QT in larger quantities. (Say, 100+ snails) .
Debating... should I remove the fish from my frag / grow out tank(s)?
One of the big problems with a QT like this is you don't feed it (you forget to) and there are no nutrients in the tank. So I have to mentally tell myself to throw in food every couple days.
