This is really what I did. I went to the grocery store and took a couple leaves off of whatever I thought might work in the veggie section and took it to the counter. A plastic bag of essentially salad. I told the lady I collected it from the bottom of the display case. She didn't even charge me.

If he has not eaten in weeks and his brain is smaller than a pee who know what he is thinking. I missed the last few messages and got a fresh stick of romaine. With all the bad press I have no desire to finish it off. So can I give a leaf and store the rest in the freezer? There was no scraps at the store I went to anyways.

You totally "missed" what I was saying. Just pluck a couple leaves off of everything in the produce section. The good stuff. How are they gonna know the difference? And no, you can't freeze romaine, or any leafy things for that matter. They will turn to mush. But they will be good in the fridge for 5 days or so.

Oh ok I will do that later today. I will look for a mixed prepared Salad first. I am giving this fish a 20 percent survival rate or less.

Thanks for the help but you can not do something then say you did something else. Cameras are everywhere plus I have respect for the law. That fish is probably toast anyways.

Day 5 he is still swimming around. I like to turn my lights on around noonish and turn them off around 11 pm at bed time. Will get a better look at him then. He looked pretty thin last night.

Around 2 months ago I did let one of my filters go too long without a sponge cleaning. Red algae growth was on that filter ... I now have some growing on the aquarium bottom. As I just turned on the lights I saw both my Dori and yellow tang munching on it. So there is food in that aquarium regardless. I just bought some Mysis shrimp. Will give to Nathan later.

Sorry I posted about Nathan on Algae post. I thought I was on this one. But it is Chaeto related. I am not sure if Nathan was nibbling at the Chaeto or the algae on the container. Regardless it is a bit of a good sign. I will take some Chaeto out later today. I got it to help me clean up my water. Just Mysis today. No dry foods. Will replenish the Romaine lettuce later. No signs of any fish nibbling on it.

if you saw him nibbling on something, clearly he is hungry and trying to find something that resembles what he ate when he was in the wild. Please please go and get some VARIETY for him. Keep trying and trying different things until you find something he likes. Why in the world would you keep putting romaine lettuce in there if there is no interest. You should try each thing for 30 minutes or so. If he shows no interest, move on to something else. Even try rubber banding some algae sheet to a couple rocks on the sand bed. You can get those at any grocery store and they aren't expensive.

I am not even sure if he did not eat any Romaine lettuce. I am thinking he didn't. I typed in how can I get a Naso Tang to eat. It said Romain lettuce ... Misys Krill and Brine shrimp. I am obviously trying hard to save this fish look at all my posts. I think he was very stressed from his capture and transport to Canada. Having him extend his dorsal fin and seeing him pecking for the first time tells me his stress could be reduced. As a suggestion from yous I will not try Romaine lettuce tomorrow. I will use another algae sheet only this time I will attach it to a rubber band on a rock Pyle. I did take some Chaeto out of the container and put in feeding area.* I am only interested in suggestions ok *. If the fish dies the fish dies ok. The shop in my opinion should not of sold me a fish the day after he got him. I will put some pics up later tonight. Peace ✌️

Going to feed a half cube of Misys. Wave maker off. My aquarium is just not designed for this load of food.

That's why it's a good idea to use a quarantine tank to get him adjusted... Easier to feed whatever you want and then remove what he doesn't eat.

Yes I agree with you. But it was all eaten up by his tank buddies. Well I am not sure but I think that I possibly saw him take a few very small nibbles of the Misys. ?? So will feed the fish only that for a bit. Untill I see him fatten up a bit then try and get him and his tank buddies off of it. I plan on giving the other half tomorrow. Will leave the algae sheet in as well. Ya
