I would definitely seal it. Better safe than sorry. At minimum seal the grout lines. The tile itself should be ok. I'm constantly spilling saltwater on my tile and I just wipe it up with a dry rag. I'm sure salt residue is there until the wife mops on the weekends. I don't make it a habit of licking my floors so I don't really care LOL!

Yep full of water and lights, Vortechs running. I fired up the main pump last night and it sucked all the water out of the first chamber of my sump LOL! I guess it took quite a bit of water to fill up all the plumbing, UV sterilizer, reactors, etc. Oh and I forgot to tighten one of the unions so that shot water all over everything inside the stand. Doh!! :hide: I'll add more water tonight and try again. :D

Thanks guys..... I wanted to be sure if I had an occasional spill i could just wipe up....

Just wondering, should I seal the tile???

You can't seal the tile!!
It's not a natural stone.
Now you could seal the grout but you have to wait at least 10 days for the grout salt is worked out of it.
Or.....you could use epoxy grout, you don't have to seal or you never have to clean that either.

Oh-****************, I hope Ben "grinding his teeth" isn't a bad thing... Jason - sorry you couldn't make it this morning, catch you next time!!

I'm just poking fun at Ben. I know how hard you guys worked to get that canopy to work only to possibly tear it down and move it. Get it done now though....totally different game when it's full!

Yea...with a young gremlin around it's hard to split for a few hours and get away. *Hopefully* next time you guys go I'll get to tag along.

There has been a ton of work done... I need the tank closer to the wall for a better look for the space..... It will come together, sooner then later. I'm catching flack from my wife...

What size is the plumbing coming down the wall? 1.5", right?

it's just 1". The horizontal run is much shorter than yours so he is going to get a strong siphon even with 1". I have the same setup on my 250 and the primary drain is only about 40% open. We are both using the ATB Flowstar 1500.

Cool, as long as you know it works! The original bean animal was designed with 1.5" and we all know my horizontal runs and 90 elbows killed the 1" flow, so I was going to say go 1.5" to be safe, but sounds like you are. :)

EDIT: Plus my barracuda gold was trying to pull something like 2800gph (including deduction for 6' head height) out of my sump. No bueno! lol
