Finally blacked out the bottom of my bottomless tank. Took 6 months of procrastination and 10 minutes of actual work.
Looks good! I know the procrastination part all too well though. I always want to put off the water change for 1 more day even though it's a 20min job.

The functional stuff I do religiously. It’s the aesthetic stuff I don’t like doing. Next project is to clean the salt creep all over the sump portion of the cabinet that’s accrued over the past year.

Talk about jinxing crap. I came home to find a detached baby duke nukem melted. No reason for this to happen AT ALL. All parameters checked daily and good. Yesterday this tank was happy with all shrooms extended. Today found a few shrunken up. Suctioned out the jelly and dosed with chemiclean once again. Next 48 hours will usually tell if there is spread of jelly. Did a head count and I’ve reached triple digits in mushrooms. I’ve come to accept I’ll never make all of them happy all the time but this random melting here and there is so annoying and just getting old. Who wants to buy a shroom collection?

I'll trade you a nem collection. [emoji23]

Sorry it randomly nuked like that. If my acro colonies or anemones did that, I'd be in a sour mood all the time.

So the chemiclean has been known to stop the brown jelly infection?

First the panic, then followed by emergency treatment, the anxiety after it’s done, and finally the paranoia over the following 2-3 weeks. I’ve done this more than I can count on one hand. The chemiclean works. It was recommended by a couple shroomies back when I lost like 15 high end shrooms one by one by brown jelly. I didn’t want to put chemicals in my tank then. I decided to do it after one of the purple monster owners saved his with high dose cc. I’ve saved at least 7 melting shrooms with high dose hospital tank chemiclean treatment since then. I also always have to treat dt at recommended dose to kill whatever is in the water column. Knock on wood... this has worked historically for me.

And on top of that, with my luck, it always happens the day before I am scheduled to receive another package.

Thank you for sharing that. I'm clueless with shrooms so I'll put that little nugget of good info in the back of my head in case I start collecting them one day.

If my tank gets nuked I’d appreciate if every single shroom died so that I’d have reason to collect something else.

As annoying as chemiclean treatment is this is what shrooms look like when treated. They love it!

I'll just take your picture, laminate it so its waterproof, and put it at the bottom of my frag tank. All the beauty, none of the work.

No can do. I’ll want to find Waldo the OG amongst the nems in my laminate.

48 hour chemi clean window almost up. So far everything looks good. No further melting or detached shrooms. Looking forward to my massive wc this evening.
