Most of the other rock looks like aged live rock with coral on it. This stuff isn't aggressive and hasn't moved much. After a couple of years I see a little popping up here and there. I'm thinking Ca based because it never grew anywhere else until I bumped up my Ca reactor.
more interested in learning more about it. It's been on the rock forever and isn't causing any issues. provides a good contrast. Some people suspect it's calcium based like coraline. Just trying to nail it down.
Hi everyone,
I may be moving in the near future and wanted to get some tips on how to deal with my 350gal reef tank.
It looks like I may need to sell the old house before I close on the new house. How would you guys handle the move. I don't want to break it down and set it up twice if I...
Has there been any thought to making it required to have the location filled out in your profile in order to be able to post in the marketplace? That weighs in the decision process as to if an item is of interest.
Example: there is an ad now that had good prices on fish and there was interest...
Thought it would be interesting to ask...What is your favorite Clownfish? Post a pic with your answer if you can. Looking forward to the replies.
Mine is the Black ocellaris or Darwin clownfish.

Back in 2011 when I set up my 150g, I didn't want direct rock to glass contact on the bottom of the aquarium and I also wanted the sand to stay in place so I put down egg crate then added rock and covered the bottom with about 1" of sand. Seemed like a great idea at the time and the tank did...
Well it's time for me to hang lights and I am blessed to have a couple options already in my possession.. The options that I have (won't be buying anything new at this time) are 1) black box LED's or 2) 48" T5/250WMH combos. The combos have 2- 250w MH and 4 T5 bulbs. Trying to decide which...
I am about ready to fill my 350 and am debating on either running my RO/DI unit for 3 days to fill it or just buying water from a LFS and getting it done. I have 2 35gallon containers that I could just make 4 trips back and forth to a store but I'd like to avoid that. Has anyone ever moved...
I have a couple good sized cool looking coral skeletons with some rock that I bought, that I would like to re-colonize with some type of coral colony. Recycle so to speak. Any suggestions for corals that I could "seed" the skeleton with and may grow kind of like a mat and cover it (except star...
Anyone know where I might be able to get a custom drip tray made. I'm thinking something like the pans the HVAC guys use. I want to have one made and then I can have it powder coated.
For you metal stand users out there, What are the pros and cons of having a metal stand? If you were going to do it all over again, would you do metal again or would you just use a wooden stand?
As I said at the conclusion of the "Cobraden's 270 build" after the 270 broke, " This tank failure could be the universe's way of telling me I just didn't go big enough. :-) " Well I listened to the Universe and will start on a 350 build. Got the beast home this weekend. It's a 1 year old...
I know the answer is yes. The real question is how? I'm thinking of purchasing a tank from the Dallas area but not sure how I would get it here. Getting it loaded into the trailer may be the biggest issue. I don't mind the drive. Do you think it would be possible to pay a maint svs to meet...
