    Quick disconnects

Fun little weekend project. Added quick disconnects for anything that needs maintenance. Auto-feeder shown. Did all pumps, skimmer neck cleaner, skimmer pump, chaeto reactor. No more wading thru all the cables to pull for maintenance.

    Redsea Reefmat 500

After some dialing in, getting 4 weeks out of a Redsea Reefmat 500. 17 bux a roll. 56 cents a day to run a roller mat. Currently setup on a 140G/40B sump with a Varios8 return pump full on so plenty of flow. Lessons learned is to not use the carbon/media tray on the bottom as it eats up the...

Dr Reefs Quarantined Fish vendor review

Here's my vendor review for the above. End goal is to be unbiased and give an honest opinion. As with anyone that's been in the reefing game awhile, i've been burned with adding that 'just one more fish' to my tank, wiping out everything days afterwards. Fast forward a couple of decades, I'm...

Poor boy Kalkwasser reactor, with magnetic stirrer.

I take pride in being thrifty when needed ...... here's a DIY Kalkwasser magnetic stirrer mixing reactor that cost +- 110 bux for everything. It's a really tight fit where the reactor was to go, only had around a 6" dia space to deal with. $50 reactor ...

$2500 Whole house natural gas generator build list.

If anyone is interested....just tested, ran the whole house just fine. Barely blipped when the 4 ton air conditioner came on. I plan on storing it away in my garage when not used. Good alternative to fixed whole house generators. Not on a ATS but can be deployed in a matter of minutes. links...

Back in it....100G build, Island Style.

Yokwe and Aloha. After 25 years of aquarium keeping, i decided to take a break from reefkeeping after departing the Marshall Islands where I lived for five years. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2016812&page=26 It was a great experience living there having the ability to...

Finsreef + Brian Edwards = BAD VENDOR EXPERIENCE

Whats up Marshians. Just thought id give you the scoop on some issues Im having with Finsreef, Brian Edwards. I highly suggest you avoid doing business with him. I paid for the maxspect mazarra's in June, still have nothing in hand but story after story. He sent a tracking #/notification, but...

    NSW test results

i posted this info elsewhere, thought id post here as a courtesy for those who are curious. i think it would be very hard to mimic the results, given the cause and effects....trying to raise calcium in an aquarium environment. C

Aqua Illumination SOL Blue setup feedback from current users

Ive been waiting forever and a day for the new Maxpsect to come out. the more i think about it, im sure it will be priced close to an AI package. I have a genetic cheapness disorder, but in this case, i think i'll look past the couple of hundred i may save, couupled with the fact im tired of...

    is a Eheim 1260 quieter than a 1262?

    RMI dive pics

Here's some pics from the Marshall Islands. these were the last dives of the dive course, so im good to go. camera is a point and shoot Canon. most of the corals were around the 40' mark and hard to keep the corals from washing out. you really need a powerful flash to overcome the depth...
