I picked up a nice space invader mini colony from a fellow reefer today.

Today I picked up a really nice green Cyphastrea from Petco of all places. I think Cyphastrea is one of my favorite corals. I have 4 color morphs now.

How is the Pax-Bellum working out for you?

Not so great. The cheato is not growing which I think is due to having zero phosphate and nitrate. Because my phosphates are at zero (with Hana low range checker) I have not been adding their nitrate solution. Pax-Bellum recommended that I take my skimmer off line but I don't want to do that. I actually have some dead/almost dead cheato fragments in my sump.

The tank is doing well though.

I've had my skimmer offline since I setup my tank. My NO3 & PO4 have been low. I'd turn your skimmer off.

I bought a cheap 32" TV and a computer stick so that I can have a nice big dashboard in my fish room. Probably should have paid for the extended warranty on the tv because of the salty environment it will be used in.

I finally got around to taking some PAR measurements. These were taken at 5:00 PM today with The center and left Radion set 20 82% at 20K and the right set to 77% at 20K. Lights are 10" above the water and measurements were made with a Apogee QMSS-E quantum meter. Units are in PPF (μmol m-2 s-1).

I just got back from a vacation in Orlando. One of the highlights of the trip was checking out World Wide Corals retail store. Talk about an impressive store. Their display tanks were nothing short of amazing. I purchase a few frags that they will ship to me this Friday. Here are some pictures of what I bought.

The frags looked great in the store. I don't think I have ever seen a large colony though.

Saw a tiny baby banggai cardinalfish in the display today. Apparently the adults are doing well.

Had one of my first losses today. I removed the yellow leather that I purchased from Fish Land back in December. It never really did flourish in my tank. I know they like higher flow and light than most leathers but I think I may have over done it on flow.
