Well that didn't work...:twitch: anyway did you insulate the duct you ran outside? You will be surprised how much those things sweat.

No and I thought about that after the fact. I’m gonna see how much it sweats this summer and adjust accordingly.

My room has about four coats of a primer that is mold resistant. I was wondering if I should put some gloss paint on top of that, but I'm not quite sure if it's necessary. My return vents outside so it should reduce the humidity, in addition to me being able to pop in a large dehumidifier if needed. I'm tired of painting and don't want to add another layer. Thoughts?

Sorry cody I would top coat it. Primer will seal the surface but nothing is sealing the primer. If that makes any sense!! It will make it easier to clean everything, just don't use a flat paint satin, eggshell and up for the sheen. Gloss would be best.

Quit be lazy and gloss it man! It'll give you another chance to sniff some fumes.

When do you want it done? I could come help in a few weeks!!

Haha nah it's a small room. Gonna paint it in an hour or so then I can start putting in stands. I need to order the acrylic to make wall plates too.

I I finished two coats of Behr exterior 100% acrylic paint on the inside of the room this evening. I went with the same line of paint as the first stand that I built, but used flat instead of semi gloss. Even painted the room, and by coincidence, the back of the cover for my work phone too haha

Oh I hope you don’t entertain hyperactive children too regularly. That flat paint will need to be repainted very soon. My contractors always use semi gloss for all walls.

I have no children, and no child will ever be in that room without me there. I know semi gloss will probably provide better protection, but I have 4-5 layers of mold resistant primer and two layers of exterior paint in a room that's conditioned and vented outside. I think I'm good to go on the moisture protection situation. At the end of the day, I just think flat paint looks better so I went with it

Haha that's actually how folks used to dose copper for treating Ich in our hobby maybe 30 years ago. But no, if a kid tries that, I'll be throwing them in to retrieve the penny!

You sure you want them touching all the ‘pretty trees’?

Haha you're right. No kids ever allowed at my place.

If they make it through the forest of sharp tools and drill bits along the path to the room, then break through the locked door, then maybe they deserve to pet the pretty trees.
