Just figured I would give the handful of you that like to collect the heads up that it is back and coming in thick.
I did some collecting over the weekend and the sargassum is full of life.
Happy collecting.
We have a new albino iguana and was thinking about using a Kessil LED light for one of its lights. I feel it might to much light for him. But would like some others input or if someone already uses LED's for there reptiles.
Thanks
I have 2 RBT that have been hosting 2 clowns for about a year now. The past week I have noticed they are losing tentacles. As anyone else had this problem?
I bought a new game today for the PS3 and it asked to update the system. I updated it and then it now won't read a disc. I contacted PS3 support and he walked me through to try to fix it. He say it needs to be sent in for service. I feel PS cashed it so I would buy the new one that is coming out...
I am having to replace a fitting that is going to my RO system that has a crack in it. And I really don't want to use a plastic one again. But the only ones I can find are cooper. Would that little piece of cooper be a deal breaker?
Wife called me yesterday around 4:30 saying my sump was completely full and the tank is milky looking and everything looks bad. The cause is auto top off didn't do its job or over did its job, depends on how you look at it. My salinity less than 1.000 for many hours. I did a 99.99% water change...
I got a wall hammer today, and it has what looks like fire coral growing on it as well. The reason I believe it is fire coral is when trying to place the hammer, my hand would itch and kinda burn/sting. And I also googled it and looks like it.
Is fire coral bad for the other corals??
The Sargassum is gone!!! Came down tonight 8-16-13 to relieve some stress by collecting in the sargassum, low and behold it is gone. So I figured if anyone was thinking about coming to Galveston for the sargassum this weekend it is a bust.
Went collecting last night in front of the Rain Forest. The sargasum was coming in at a very slow pace but every piece I picked up, there was something in it. Here is what I found. A mess load of pipefish, one yellow seahorse, mess load of angles (threw back), sargasum file fish, many...
Went to Galveston to see if there was any peps and lo and behold the sargassum was coming in. So I nixed the pep collecting and went through the sargassum. Found 3 pipefish about 10 anglers, sargassum shrimp and also found some peps in the sargassum, I'm taken it that's how the peps are...
Anyone know of and good LFS in Dallas/Fort Worth area?? Please let me know.
Were going up there this weekend for the race and want to explore the LFS on Sunday.
Thanks.
Has anyone been to Galveston within the past couple days? If so is there any large amounts of sargassum floating around? I noticed a small amount on the beach last weekend but nothing that mounted up to much..
The other night I dropped a small frag rack in the tank and when I pulled it out, I had black sand stuck to it. I then took a mag float and ran it across my sand and it picked up a mess load of sand. Has anyone else seen this before????
